Louisa Speicher Kratzer
I had this picture which is titled Louisa Speicher Kratzer e-mailed to me by relative on my mothers side, the Beghtels. I am not sure exactly where this family lived but my grandmother lived in Urbana, Indiana in Wabash County. My grandmothers sister was married to a Kratzer and the Speicher family lived in the area so there must be some connection.

this is abigail foster shaner. she is the wife of william harrison shaner. she lost all of her brothers in the civil war. her husband and two brothers-in-law served in the civil war. one dieing in the battle of the wilderness.

this picture was taken before 1930. she is the mother of helen mae say shaner. she married william burton say. she lived in mannington west virgina with either an aunt or her mother most of her life.
civil war picture
this is william harrison shaner. he is the son of samuel david schoener and harriet byre. he is the husband of abigail foster shaner. he and his two brothers served our country in the civil war. he was caputred by the south during a battle at White Oak and spent a month in libby prision. he fought on look out mountain, the battle of the wilderness, 2nd Bull Run and Fredericksburg. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal he was 24 at the time of his enlistment married with one son and a baby on the way.
