Robert Lee Walden was born on September 1, 1943 in La Follette, Campbell County, Tennessee, United States of America to parents John Jacob "Jake" Walden (1919-1989) and Rosie Elizabeth Bolton (1923-1989). He had eight siblings including Wanda Mae Walden (1952-1952), Charles Glen Walden (1956-2008), and Donald Eugene Walden (1967-1967) and they grew up in Campbell, Tennessee, USA.
On July 17, 1967 he married Carolyn Sue Turner in Oak Grove, White, Arkansas, USA. The couple had two children together.
Bob Walden served in the US Marines. Robert's service started on December 17, 1971 and lasted until his discharge date of September 4, 1973. Robert Lee Walden was a Private First Class and Served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War in the early 1970's.
He married again on January 3, 1984 in Liberty, Texas, USA to Sara Maxine Welch (1963–2021). The couple resided in Hardin, TX.
