The correct spelling of the family name is CROSLIN. After the death of Wm Croslin, a family member Louise Croslin, changed the spelling of the last name to Croslyn. She did this out of spite to the grandfather Bill Croslin. The spelling was never legally changed. When Raymond F. Croslin registered for the Navy in WWII, the discrepancy of the spelling was discovered on Raymonds birth certificate. Therefore, Muriel and Raymond reverted the spelling to CROSLIN. The 2 sons, Marcus and Raymond, continued to have the spelling CroslYn. However, the daughter, Jenifer, who was born after WWII was given the correct and original spelling of CROSLIN.
