James (Jim) was married to Gerry Duffy. Dated from 1983-1990. They were married in 1990. Jim was diagnosed with Leukemia. He fought a 4 year Battle with his wife Gerry by his side every minute. Their lives were inseparable and love between them immeasurable. Jim and Gerry returned to NY with a 90% chance of survival. Jim had a long and prospective life returning home until, he reached the assertive NY attitude and the Medical team at LIJ Medical Center NY. The arrogance of this hospital and upper staff Allowed a certain death of Graft Vs Host disease, where the new bone marrow failed to respond to Jims body. The new marrow rejected the transplant. The medical staff of this hospital disagreed with Seattles protocol of medications. Jim and Gerry Fought the hospital to no avail. Jim was a Funny and Amazing man, He was an amazing husband and is missed by his wife and her family daily. Right up until the day he passed away Jim was the focus and concern of Gerry. He died Feb 6, 1995. He was born November 8, 1958. A terrific sense of humor. He and his wife Gerry, Kept an amazing attitude and together fraught a courageous fight. Gerry and her family was a positive impact on their lives, even through their was negative impact of some of his family members. He was very much loved by his Father. Jim was also loved by his Grandfather. He spoke about his grandfather favorably and extensively. He loved his wife Gerry, whom Devotedly took care of him from the day They met to the diagnosis and until the day of his death. His remains are still with his wife and are cherished and respected every day. Jim was loved by this family and unfortunately did not have the future so many of us have. He has still not been forgotten by many friends and family after 25 years.
