Edward Reuben Linja was the child of John Linja (1871-1923) and Ida Mathilda Leppala (1877-1945). He was born on December 26, 1906 in Michigan. He had multiple siblings: Gustaf Linja, Benhart U Linja, Charles Linja, Lempi Linja Storvis, Lillian Linja, Walter Linja, Helen Linja, Arther Linja, and Senia Jennie Linja.
He married Jennie Walikangas (1908-1990) on July 14, 1928 in Highland Park, Wayne, Michigan, USA. Together they had multiple children including John E (1934-1993) and Edward Line (1934-1991).
On November 10, 1943, Edward Reuben Linja passed away in Hancock, Michigan.
