She had siblings Viola Mae White (1928-1990), Georgia Anna Marie White (1932-2017), and Maxine Raye White (1934-1995) as well as half siblings Florence Louellen White (1917-2005), James Riley White (1918-1974), and Harley Raymond White (-1991). In the 1930's Oneta and her family moved to Amarillo, Potter, Texas, USA and then on to Rural, Green, Oklahoma. She worked as a cook and nurse's aid. On October 23, 1939 she married John Doyal Bilbrey (1922-1976). The couple had 6 children together including a son Billy Doyal Bilbrey (1946-2005). She married again in 1958 to William Franklin Swindle (1923–1993) in Amarillo, Potter, Texas, USA. The couple had two children before divorcing in November of 1976. Oneta White Bilbrey Swindle passed away on May 30, 1999 in Portland, OR. She was cremated and buried alongside her first husband, John Bilbrey.
