On the other side of the monument is the Great Miami River and the west side of Hamilton. The man in the photograph has not been identified. He is walking in front of the courthouse.

And a photograph of the photographer, Joseph "Joe" Cella (Journal News) while he is taking the photograph. The photo was taken of High Street looking east. He is standing on top of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument near the Great Miami River. You can still see patches of snow in the photo of High St.
