George and Clara were married at the Bradford Cathedral in July 1893. George had 9 siblings. George spent a short 6 month stay at the High Royds Mental Hospital not long after the death of his mother in 1899. He had live with and cared for his mother for many years before his marriage to Clara. He was readmitted to High Royds in 1918, where he stayed until his death in December 1929. Nothing is known as to the nature or cause of his illness, nor the cause of his death. His brother Edward was a famous Labor politician who traveled to New Zealand and Australia to give political lectures.
