2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

Dick Hance married Beryl Yvonne Jukes before the Second World War leaving to fight in Singapore. At the fall of Singapore he was held in Changi Prison of war camp before being transported to Nagasaki as a
POW.He spent the rest of the war years as a slave labourer working on ship building. He was moved from Nagasaki before the atomic bomb destroyed the city, then was repatriated back to Melbourne. He and Beryl had three children Paul Richard Hance, Ian William Hance and Beryl Yvonne Hance. Dick worked as a nursery man for many years, finally as head gardener for the lower Mornington Peninsula Shire.
