James Kalauao Kanekoa: Kalauao (family back home in Maui, knows him by this name), was born Aug. 13, 1927 in Nahiku Maui. His mother's name was Victoria, his Father's name was William. He was married 3 times (1st). Abby (had 2 boys, Gary Mahoe Kanekoa & Larry Kalauao Kanekoa). (2nd). Yvonne (had 1 daughter, Cecilia Ku'uipo Kanekoa). (3rd). Donna (no children). He has 3 siblings & 2 hanai. *Siblings* Frank Kanekoa (died 2004), Cecilia Kanekoa (died), Mano May Kanekoa (died) & *Hanai* Barbara Jane Kanekoa & Ku'uipo Kanekoa. He has 1 Grand-Child, Tobyas Ka'ipo Kanekoa.

James Kalauao Kanekoa was born to William Hanai Kanekoa (1903 - 1967) and Victoria K. Morinaga (1908 - 1980). His father was born in Hawaii, as was his mother. He had a brother, Frank K., and sisters Rose, Barbara, and Victoria Kanekoa.
A World War II veteran, James served as a Private First Class in the United States Air Force.
James Kanekoa married Abby with whom he had 2 sons,, then Yvonne Lorraine Fontes (1942 - 2002) and they had one daughter. He then married Donna and they didn't have children.
James was survived by sons Larry and Gary - from his first marriage - and daughter, Ipo - from his second marriage.
