Maria E (Lamantia) Pannozzi
Married to James Pannozzi in Seekonk, Mass in 1938. Had one child, Dr. James R. Pannozzi AP. Resided at their house at 19 Sabra Street, Cranston, Rhode Island 02910 from 1938-1976. Incredible story. Like her peers, lived and died never knowing that she had Hashimoto's thyroiditis, an autoimmune disease causing extreme fatigue and other problems. Nearly died trying to have more children and survived thanks to a blood transfusion, in 1952, from cousin John Di Sano, son of her sister Carmella Di Sano. Loved to visit Newport, see Ocean Drive and walk on Cliff Walk. Also liked to visit Watch Hill Rhode island. Worked at many of the major historical Rhode Island jewelry companies including Trifari's where she met Margaret Santuri (1918-2009) who later became Godmother to James R. Pannozzi, her only son. Favorite music: Battle Hymn of the Republic, Sicilian Songs, Irish Songs, and "Am I Blue" (Hoagy Carmicheal).
Rafaela Philomena Carroci married Salvatore Pannozzo (1844-19??) in Fondi, Italy around 1875. They had several children, one of which was Vincenzo Pannozzi, known in America as James Pannozzi (1885-1973), my father. Her dates of birth and death and other family members are unknown. It is likely that she, and her husband Salvatore originally came from the mountain village of Campodimele.
Carrie Capasso of Westerly, Washington County, RI was born on October 29, 1896, and died at age 94 years old on December 11, 1990.
