2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

omie had five sisters. she was second- oldest. she had five children: kennet lee evans, Darlene marie evans, patricia ann evans, and Kimberly ann evans. her mother name was dovie viola (cooper) lee, her fathers name was jesse james lee. her grandchildren are (in order of births): Michael and alex bowling, Jason, matthew and Kelly, Melanie michelle evans, chad Edward evans, Christopher brian evans, jami leann evans, and tiffany marie smith. she was my only loving grandparent. she had the love and patience of a saint. she married into the carver family she was not born into it.she was of petite build, brownish auburn hair in her youth, around five foot tall, brown eyes, she worked herself just about to death to raise her five kids, she, at that point had had two abusive husbands (james lucas evans and alex salmons. she never learned to drive a car so she had to take the bus everywhere. she worked almost 20 years at a dry cleaners. she never gave up on her kids. even though life was so harsh to her, it never took the love, kindness and patience from her heart. and she made the best thankgiving dressing ive ever tasted. she has been gone ten years and I still miss her everyday. when I think about the kind of person, woman, mother and daughter I want to be I try to think of the woman she was and the woman my mother Kimberly evans is. and that is where I derive my strength and motivation. God broke the mold with my mammaw. they don't make women like her anymore and to me that is the saddest thing. I still try to do things that would make my mammaw proud.
