With observer Lt Martin Sheehan contact air patrol in RE8 plane D4898 on 17 Corps front left aerodrome 17.07hr. Plane reported missing fate unknown 02 Oct 1918. Machine flying time 27 hours.
McCaig commissioned (prev SSgt) RAF 09 Sept 1918, 14 Sept posted to No2 Aircraft Supply Depot, embarkation 17 Sept 1918, joined 13 Sqn RAF 18 Sept 1918. Died 01 Oct 1918

26 Sept - 60 mins showing Corps area, 100 mins with Sheehan
