About my family:
I am a descendant of the Mckinney's and the Martin's; both on my Maternal side. I really am not sure of my biological father's side because I have been told so many stories, I don't know what to believe, so I concentrate on what I do know. Taking a DNA test will hopefully reveal who my biological father's side of the family is. Time will tell....

Eli Martin, Esquire
Eli Martin, in a 40th birthday portrait. Taken at the height of his career as a haberdasher and dry goods merchant in Lauderdale County, Tenn. He was also a farmer and breeder of fine Plantation Ponies. Husband of Ellen Louise (Williams)Martin, father to Beulah (Blythe), Lillias (Ford), Albertha (Cheatham), Eli Van Louis and Juanita Martin.

General James Green Martin circa 1865
James Green Martin was a General in the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. He was from North Carolina and attended West Point, graduating in 1840.
General Martin served in the Mexican War and was so badly wounded that he lost his arm, earning the nickname "Old One Wing". But he went on to resign his commission in the U.S. Army and become commander-in-chief of the Confederate State forces in 1861.
After the Civil War, General Martin became a lawyer and practiced law for the rest of his life.
