My name is Joe Miller, and I was a student of Bearl Reed at Dover High Schol in 1963-1966. I remember the following about Mr. Reed. I was attending University of Arkansas when he died in 1972. JoAnn, my sister, and I attended Dover High School. I played baseball and basketball at Dover. JoAnn was the Homecoming Queen in 1965. The school had no other sports in 1964-1966 other than basketball and baseball. Dover is where I encountered Bearl E. Reed, my favorite math teacher. He was also a Park Ranger in the summertime. He died of cancer in 1972 after I knew him in 1966. Mr. Reed was able to present math in a simple and basic way that made it seem easy. He helped me build my basic understanding of mathematics that got me through the advanced math years later in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering. I consider Mr. Reed a great math teacher and I credit him for my successful career in Nuclear Power!!!
