John Antonie

Edmund Andrew Antonie of Coburg Australia was born in 1901 in Kinglake, VIC to Rodrigues Vinc Antonie and Mary Katherina Nink Antonie. Edmund Antonie married Evangeline Ruth Mcewin in 1929, and died at age 68 years old in 1969 in Coburg.

My Grandfather Ernest John Wingham (Bob) was born 1892 in England and Immigrated to Australia via the 10 pound passage from the UK. He settled in Lakes Entrance where he met my grandmother Mildred Rose Tew who came to Lakes Entrance from Launceston. After they married they shifted to Bruthen (Sarsfield) area. Mildred Rose Tew had a daughter Mildred Rhoda Tew when she met Bob and as a matter of course she became Mildred Rhoda Tew Wingham and he mother became Mildred Rose Tew Wingham.Bob became widely known as a builder of roads and Bridges was honored by the Omeo Council with a gold watch (which I still have to this day) for special services rendered above the call of normal duties.Bob eventually came to Bairnsdale and was employed as a foreman of the East riding section of the Bairnsdale area for the Bairnsdale shire offices.He eventually went to livest a place called Lindenow until it became time when he could no longer look after himself and he booked himself into the Bairnsdale home for the Aged where he resided until his death in 1976. He is buried at the Lawn Cemetery at Bairnsdale and I will go on record as saying he was a great man and family member.
