Helen Claps was born on May 17, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois to parents Jospehine Palase and Vincent Claps. She has oldere sisters Lucy and Jennie as well as younger siblings Rocco, Mary, Unberto, and Ida Claps.
She marred Arthur J Grieco on June 29, 1937 in Cook County, Illinois. The couple had children together including Patricia, Arthur Jr, and Josephine Grieco. The family lived in Rochester, Monroe, New York.
