Born Dec. 29, 1927 to Charles and Anna Sinagra in PIttsburgh, PA. He belonged to a large family; his father was of Italian heritage from Sicily and his mother was of German descent (maiden name Reinert). He and one sister Rosemary were red-headed. He enlisted in the Air Force during WWII and rose to the rank of Corporal. He was an airplane mechanic.
