2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

My grandpa was 80 when I was born, so he was quite old in the 19 years I knew him. He lived to the age of 99.
Born in 1876, he must have seen many changes in his lifetime. He was a farmer in Norway before coming to America. When he came to the NW, he worked in a lumber mill on Bainbridge Island, before entering the fishing industry as a commerical fisherman. His boat, The Bertha, named after his wife was passed down to his 2 sons, Pete and Fred who made a living fishing together in the NW for more than 40 years before retiring and selling the boat. Marucs married Berit Oldervik, also from Norway.
