She loved her children immensely. She had such a huge heart and would give you the coat off her back if you needed it. Well one time I remember, she gave her shoes off her feet to a struggling alcoholic after attending an AA meeting. No matter what has been said or assumed, the whole time she was in my life she was proud of her sobriety and one of the only times in my life I got to experience my father work hard to be as well. She was so sick, fought every day through the immense pain she was in, and still had her warm smile and "New York" accent that I'll never forget. I hope you are resting in peace watching over all of us Bern.

I'm pretty sure her daughters name is spelled "Leigha" I got to meet her when she was about 8 years old and she was the sweetest little girl ever! I even believe we might have the same exact birthday?

Ellen J Roughneen name was changed when she reached ellis Ireland . Her name was changed to Helen J Rochford. She worked building tanks for world war 2. She never finished high school. She met a man, a college graduate with a motor cycle but her sister would not let her marry him. She was told that a college graduate would never stay with her because of the lack of education. So the romance ended and she gave her baby away because at the time, it would of shamed her family. Her sister Catherine was evil and took every penny Helen made. She had no resources to raise a child on her own.

He was married to Georgia Ruth (Schilhab) Kelly on November 2, 1945 in Colorado, Bastrop County, Texas and they later divorced. He had a child Joseph Patrick Kelly. Harvey Kelly died at age 64 years old on February 19, 1980 in Gentilly, Polk County, MN, and was buried in February 1980.

Ethel Olson claims her son born Oct. 10 1940 as fathered by Harvey. Ethel wanted child support. She said the judge ordered Harvey to either marry or join the army. Harvey joined the army
