Ardella Hay was born on June 1, 1891 to parents William T Hay (1842-) and Flora Mitchell (1866-1938). She had a big family with multiple siblings and grew up in Claiborne, Louisiana, USA.
She was married to Sanford Hamilton (1883-1958) and together the couple had children including AC "Ace", Richard, Chester, Marcella, Lorell, LT "Dock", Cleveland Lee "CL, Della Mae, and Robert Hamilton.
