Elwood Arnold Conklin was the son of Cyril and Laura Conklin. According to the 1950s census, Elwood then age 12, was living with his father Cyril Conklin (age 37), mother Laura Conklin (age 47), grandparents Adeline Conklin (69) and Daisy Schlif (67), and his brother Richard (age 22) in Plainfield New Jersey.
Elwood's sister tragically passed away at the age of four on Jan. 27th 1940 of 'illuminating gas poisoning' which also caused Elwood and his mother to stay in the Muhlenberg Hospital. See Roberta Conklin Services Held
Elwood worked at General Motors when he married Peggy Ann Sloan Darbie in July 1970 in North Plainfield New Jersey. She was working in the editorial department of The Courier-News in Bridgewater New Jersey at the time, and they had a lovely announcement in the newspapers on Saturday July 18th 1970. See Peggy Darbie Bride of Elwood A. Conklin.
In 1975, at the time of his death, he had just completed a course to become an HVAC technician. His wife at the time was the family editor of The Courier-News and had a nice obituary written. See Elwood Conklin: Obituary

2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!
