Sara Margaret
This is my grandmother on my mother's side. she was born in Kearney, NE in 1889. when she was 10 days old her mother died, so her father gave her up for adoption. Nelson and Pertie Chilberg adopted her. Her biological parents were George and Laura Hartman, Sara's name was also Laura. Her new parents changed her name to Sadie, but for some reason my grandmother never used that name. I believe that she had a brother who was older than her by the name of George. she and her new parents moved to CA about 1912, where she met and married my grandfather, Elbert Shane.
