Jakub Biernasz
Jakub Biernasz was born on Gtowna, Galacia, Austria (now Poland - borders changed in the past). Uncertain as to his exact date of birth. My information shows: May 21, 1892, but the WWI Draft Registration information indicates Jacob's birthdate as being: May 3, 1893. (Draft registrations weren't always correct as men did lie about their age.)
He immigrated to America with his wife Marya on the ship: SS Lapland on April 2, 1913. He left Antwerp and landed at Ellis Island in New York City. He was married to Marya (maiden name: Poligaca). He was a farmer / Laborer.
He died on Feb 13, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois. Cause of death: he froze his feet while in Crivitz, Wisconsin and got gangrene. He is buried in St. Adalberts Cemetery.
