He was married to Luella Marie Shafer Yantzie, and had children Diann Marie Yantzie Nowak Myers, Karen Kay Yantzie Eberhardt, and Lori Jo Yantzie Heilbrun Davis. Richard Yantzie died at age 83 years old on June 25, 2009.
