Arthur Bestwick and Lela (Sunderland) Dirst were married 18 December 1919. They spent their lives in Nemaha and Brown Counties in Kansas

Elmer and Martha Ann (Shipman) Hedrick with their two older children, Melba Louise (on Daddy's lap) and Elmer Vernon "Vern" on Mama's lap. Vernon was my grandfather.

H.E. Shipman and Mahala Snider Wedding Photo
Henry Ellison "Ellie" Shipman married Mahala Ann Snider on 1 Janauary 1891 in Camden County, MO. They were the parents of 4 children; Mary Lutitia, Lura May, William Henry and my great-grandma Martha Ann. Mahala died 13 days after Martha Ann's birth.

Ordway and Lela Dirst Wedding
This photo is of my great-grandmother with her first husband. Lela Sunderland married Ordway Dirst when she was only 14 years old. He had been a farm hand for her father and was eleven years her senior. They were the parents of two sons, Corlis and Loyd Vernon "Bud". They were divorced.

Martha Ann Hedrick and children
This photo was taken not long after the death of Elmer Ross Hedrick. It is of Martha Ann (Shipman) Hedrick (still in her widow's black) with her three children; Vernon, Otto "Kenneth" and Melba Louise. Elmer passed away 31 December 1922
