Lillie Mae Oxendine Platner and children
This is a photo of my great aunt Lillie Oxendine Platner and her children; Burl Laverne Platner, Gladys Snowma Platner, and twins Loreen and Maxine Platner taken about 1920. Lillie and the children dissappear after 1920. Lillie's husband was in prison in Jefferson City MO for grand larceny (horse theft)at this time.
Her mother died in 1920. Her family was supposedly angry because her brother Amos Oxendine was involved. I would love to know what happened to them. Everyone old enough to have known them says she put the children up for adoption and moved to possibly Oklahoma. I can find no record of them in 1930. Older family says she came back to visit a couple of times, but this is only rumor. She was born in TN on Aug.8,1897 and the children were born in Newton County MO between 1914 and 1919. Their father Leonard Osten Platner was born in Newton County MO on Aug.6,1892 and died in Las Animas County CO July 25,1962. Please help us find them.
