Margaret Williams Tucker
Margaret Williams Tucker
Margaret Williams Tucker (1906 to 1926) was the daughter of John Foster Tucker, and his wife, Alice Rose Greene. Her grandparents were Stillman Tucker, his wife, Margaret S. Loy, Oscar Byron Greene and his wife, Mary Frances Robinson. She is buried with her family at Forest Lawn, Glendale, California.
Anda Abele was a classmate of mine in Los Angeles in the 1950's. That was at John James Audubon Junior High School, 1951 to 1954, or Susan Miller Dorsey High School, 1954 to 1956, or both schools. I remember she had an exceptionally high IQ. She may have been born outside the United States and may have been in a school year after being held back a year or two. She was four years older than me but in about the same grade at school. I lost track of her after being in those two schools.

I knew Mrs. Rose Rhodes. She was the widow of a Mr. Rhodes, first name Charles if I remember correctly.Rose was a lady, such a lady in fact, that many of us thought of her as "Lady Rose." Rhodes was her married name. Contrary to something saw posted on the internet, she was not born into the Rhodes family. When we asked her what her maiden name was, Rose said only that it came from Central Europe. Rose spent some years of her life in China. I recall that she thought jade was the most precious of all jewels. She spent some time in a Catholic girls' school, maybe in China. Her late husband may have been in the entertainment business in Hollywood. So far as I know, Rose had no children and Charles had a son from a marriage prior to his marriage to Rose. Rose made her home in a fine house on Tellem Drive, Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, California. It had a fine view of the beach, roughly from Santa Monica to Palos Verdes. When periodic brush fires swept Pacific Palisades, her friends rushed to be sure she was all right. Rose was a fine hostess. She entertained me and several of our friends for dinner on many occasions. That was in the 1980's and 1990's, as I recall. (She gave me her treasured recipe for chocolate chip cookies, asking only that I follow it exactly the first time and revise it only later.) She and some of our mutual friends visited me in my home on Fulton Avenue, North Hollywood, California.
