2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!
Family, friend, or fan, this family history biography is for you to remember James Stratakes.
Robert Louis Stratakes of Upperco, Baltimore County, Maryland United States was born on May 9, 1925 in Brooklyn, Kings County, NY, and died at age 66 years old on May 24, 1991 in Randallstown, Baltimore County, MD. Robert Stratakes was buried on May 28, 1991 at New Cathedral Cemetery 4300 Old Frederick Rd, in Baltimore.
An online obituary for Louis by the Camden Courier-Post provides a link to "Ted" Karlis and identifies his service during World War Two a a flame-thrower and was awarded the Bronze Star.
Family, friend, or fan, this family history biography is for you to remember George Stratakes.
Dennis "Ted" Karlis was born in 1933 to Estelle (Jordan) Stratakes and Gustave Costas Stratakes, and had siblings George Stratakes, Louis G Stratakes, Robert Stratakes, and James Stratakes. Dennis "Ted" Karlis died at age 79 years old in 2013.
George J Stratakes of New York County, New York United States was born circa 1922. Family, friend, or fan, this family history biography is for you to remember George J Stratakes.
Estelle is interred with two sons and several Jordans in the Elwood Rural Cemetery, Elwood. Apparently, she was married twice. First to a Stratakes and secondly to a Karlis prior to 1933 when Dennis "Ted" Karlis was born. Location of all children not known. By the dates on the Jordan markers it is not possible to locate her parents, but a strong assumption is that her grandparents are in the same family lot, David Jordan ((1834-1905) and Hester A Jordan (1838-1916).
