Joanna of Castile
Joanna of Castile
Joanna of Castile, aka Joanna the Mad, was the first queen to reign both Castile and Aragon at the same time. She was known for Joanna the Mad because of her mental illness. She was the 3rd child born to Isabella of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon. She was also the elder sister of Queen Katherine of Aragon, King Henry the VIII's first wife. She was a very attractive young woman and married Philip of Castile in 1496. She gave birth to 6 children. Joanna suffered from a mental illness known as Schizophrenia. She died in 1555 at age 75.

Ola Vesta, Chickasaw/German
This is my grandmother Ola Vesta Hale. She was in WWII in the Marines. Her father was a full blood Chickasaw and her mother was part German. She was also a twin and the youngest of 12 children. I was told that her family was older generation because some of her siblings had already died before she was born. I do not know if she has any half siblings from any previous marriages. Thanks! May everyone have a blessed day!

A photo of Koenraad Gezang. Koenraad was in the care of the Creche orphanage, nobody knew who he was at first. He was adored by the staff and even German police then he was sadly murdered at Sobibor Death Camp on May 21, 1943 at age 13 months.
