Misty Dawn Eslick was born to Billie Eugene Eslick (1936 - 1997) and Novie Ellen Hinkle (1947 - 2021). She had two brothers, Ricky and Bobby Joe, and two sisters, Deborah Ann and Sandra Darlene Eslick. Note: While government records indicate that Misty died on March 29, 1990, her headstone says that she died on March 18, 1990. The discrepancy seems to be that Misty was last seen on March 18 but her body, found in the trunk of her car submerged in a local river, was found on March 29th. See Teen-ager's body found. An ex-boyfriend, James Richard Bowman, age 18, later confessed to her murder. She was stuffed into the trunk of her car and the autopsy found that she was alive when her car was pushed into the Trinity River near Crockett, where they both lived.
