Daughter of Robert Moore BURGAMY and Susannah ROBERTS. Great Grandmother died December 12, 1905 and is buried at Olive Branch Church in Owassa, Alabama. In 1877 she married a minister, John Henderson HIGDON born July 16, 1848 and died September 17, 1915. He is buried at Elizabeth Church in McKenzie, Alabama (Butler County). They had 12 children together. Isn't she lovely?

George Washington LEE Sr.
This is a photo of my Great Grandpa, George Washington LEE, Sr. taken probably when he returned from The War. His parents were William Greenberry LEE and Martha Jane Taylor who were early settlers of Covington County, Alabama. Great Grandpa LEE is buried at Elizabeth Primitive Baptist church in McKenzie, Alabama where he was the pastor for 30 years. He lost an arm near Vicksburg, Mississippi. Great Grandpa LEE was a Baptist preacher, State Legislator, tax collector and farmer. He was sometimes called One Armed George or Elder LEE.
