Rebecca Butler Finney
Rebecca Butler Finney married John French Finney on the 14th day of February, 1826 when she was nineteen years of age. She was from Monongalia County, Virginia, now West Virginia. Rebecca has been described as "a very haughty, beautiful and proud woman". Her father was Jonathon Butler who was the founder of Butler Mills along Killbrock and a prominent citizen of the area. Her mother was Sarah Morgan Butler whose marriage with Jonathon Butler was the first in Wayne County, Ohio.
John French Finney
John French Finney was born in Delarare, February 9, 1798 and died in Ohio, March 25, 1865. At the age of twenty eight years married Rebecca Butler on the 14th of February 1826 when she was 19 years of age.

Anna, who inherited wealth from her parents, was described as "A high and haughty dame, exercising centurion-like authority, prone to issuing of orders, and very vigilant and determined in seeing that they were promptly and vigoursly executed." Anna Dorothea was a sister of David Finney and daughter of Dr. John Finney.
