About me:
I am researching the descendants of Alexander Campbell b.1734 Margowan, Killin Parish, Perthshire, Scotland.
Alexander Campbell came to New York with the 42nd Regiment of Foot of the Black Watch in 1756 with 2 brothers, Sargeant Moses Campbell b.1733 and Private James Campbell b.1741.
In 1758 they were part of the group that attacked Fort Ticonderoga.
1765 Alexander married Catherine Vetter who died soon after, he then married Magdelina Vansice of Schenectady, NY. U.S.A.
Alexander Campbell owned land in the Mohawk Valley, he had a store in Schenectady, and in Albany, NY. He was later forced out of the USA as a Loyalist. On September 7, 1778, he refused to take the Oath of Allegiance, and requested permission of the Commissioners of Conspiracies to remove to Canada with his family. This request was granted and he was ordered to prepare himself to be removed on the shortest notice. he settled near Johnstown, ON, Canada, now called Cornwall.

A trapper & Hunter since age of nine. His Trap Line was just North of the Prince Albert National Park, Saskatchwan, at a place once called Dog Lake, but he trapped in the Prince Albert National Park for 37 years. He had many escapes from the Game Wardens while trapping and hunting there.
