My Grandfather Reuben Thomas Ballard born September 7, 1893. This photo was taken in front of Mount Olivet Baptist Church around 1903-05. In those days church was held once per month and sometimes meetings were held on the Saturday prior to Sunday service.This would explain why grandpa had his shot gun because no hunting or fishing were allowed on Sundays.
