Hoenig of Melbourne Australia was born in 1959 at Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne, VIC to Gabriel Hoenig and Giselle Berkovits Hoenig. Hoenig died in 1959 at Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne.
She was born in Kiskunfelegyhaza, Hungary. Her father was Chaim Ezra and her mother was Blanka Steinmetz. I don't have details of their marriage, but I do know that Chaim Ezra came from a town the Hungarians called Dombo, which is now the Ukrainian town of Dubowe. Blanka came form a town called Brustura/ He was born in 1890 and died in Auschwitz in 1944. His wife was born in 1887 and also died in 1944 in Auschwitz. They both came form the Maramaros part of Hungary as part of the Austro Hungarian empire. Dora has seven siblings, including my mother Gizella, who was born in 1926 in Kiskunfelegyhaza and died in New York in August 1997, although she lived most of her life in Melbourne, Australia. Dora also had a surviving brother, Allen Brown, who was also born in Kiskunfelegyhaza as Avraham Berkovits on July 4, 1921 and Died February 5, 1990 in New York. Dora or Theoadora married Gyorgy (Gyuri) Gardos and they left Hungary to live in the US in 1956/7 after the Revolution
