She was the daughter of Noah Akers and Savannah Francis Sturgill. Noah Akers was a railroad worker, herb doctor, midwife and mountain "healer" (medicine mam). Her mother was a homemaker and mother. She lived in DeWale, Ky. in Floyd County. The Family bought a home in Banner, Ky, also in Floyd County.

Otto Akers, A.k.a. Carl Otto Akers N May 1912 At Dana, KY. In Floyd County. Son Of Francis Marion Akers And Susan (Gertrude) Akers. Otto help many jobs during his lifetime. Youth conservation core. Sawmill worker, farmer, carpenter, fireman and oiler on the railroad, soldier, autoworker, volunteer Grandfather for at risk children. Father of 13 children, and husband of "Gola" Pearl Stiltner, a.k.a. Stilton. His grandfather was Elijah E. Akers.
