2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

Barbara was the nicest person anyone could know. She was a passionate teacher, working with children to become better readers while working in the Newton Public Schools. She would, and did, do anything for her children, Jennifer and Sarah. This means that she went several winters with a coat that did not keep her warm just so that her kids would be warm enough.
Barbara came over to the United States in 1961 with her parents and her older brother Charles (aka: Szulim). Both her parents and brother were Holocaust survivors having spent the war in a Siberian Work camp. The family settled in an area of Boston known for its' Jewish Community. In 1965, she and her parents buried her brother after he was in a car accident in France while serving the US Army. Barbara was only 12. In 1970, Barbara and her parents moved to Newton, Mass. She would live in Newton for the next 20 years.
She married Allen Miller in 1975. In 1977, Barbara and Allen welcomed their first child, Jennifer. Jennifer was not an only child for long. In 1979, Barbara ad Allen welcomed their second child, Sarah.
Barbara was very involved in her synagogue, Temple Reyim.
