Susan Ann Dukowitz was born to Bernard Joseph "Barney" Dukowitz Sr. (1918 - 1979) and Hildagarde Justine Zwack (1924 - 2012). Her father was born in Minnesota, as was her mother. She had nine siblings, including Bernard Jr "Skip", Patricia, Larry, Rick, Tom, Judy, Jane, Jim, and Bob..
Susan Dukowitz married Stephen Conley Patton on August 22, 1986 in Stearns, Minnesota and they divorced on December 26, 1989 in Duval, Florida.
