My mom's side of the family is Swedish (and still lives in Sweden) and she instilled in me lots of Swedish heritage and traditions which has made me who I am today. My dad's side of the family is German and Irish and the most likely the side of the family I get all my freckles from. Family is so important, and welcome everyone to discover more about them, their history, and share about their loved ones who make up the history of who we are!

JoAnn Colleen (Strand) was born on January 16, 1936 in Minnesota United States, and died at age 77 years old on February 18, 2013.
Colleen Diane Taylor, 56, formerly of Palatka, passed away peacefully Feb. 9, 2017 at UF Health in Gainesville after an extended illness, surrounded by her daughters.
Born Nov. 19, 1960 to Alton Smith and JoAnn Strand in Jacksonville, Colleen was raised in the Lutheran faith and was a former member of Hope Lutheran Church of Satsuma, under the direction of Pastor Jacob Brey.
Colleen graduated from North Posey High School in Poseyville, Ind. in 1978. Moving from Cynthiana, Ind. in 1983, Colleen worked for Barnett Bank in Jacksonville, but quit working to care for her brother who passed away in 1988. She then worked as a department manager for Winn-Dixie all over the Westside of Jacksonville. She later became a record secretary for A&B Distributors in Jacksonville before her car accident in 1994. Before her accident, Colleen was a softball team mom where she kept score for her daughters’ softball teams. She played an active role in all that her daughters had done. She enjoyed word and jigsaw puzzles, Facebooking with family and friends, reality TV and spending time with her grandchildren as much as she could.
Colleen is preceded in death by her parents: JoAnn Bullock-Koerner and Alton Smith, who passed away Feb. 2; and brother, Dana L. “Danny” Smith.
She is survived by her daughters: Shannan Crews (Justin) of Palatka and Lisa Beth Kauffman (Gordy) of Atlantic Beach; grandchildren: Alyssa C. Maya of Palm Coast, Jerrid Drescher of Atlantic Beach and Barrett Crews of Palatka; stepmom, Jenice Smith of Orange Park; stepbrother, Ernie Amos of Jacksonville; stepsister, Patsy Llewellyng of Orange Park; father of her daughters, Kim Voegel (Lucinda) of Arinsdale, Ga.; aunts: Yvonne Bistadeau (Darrell) of Wisconsin; Kathy Hruby (Tom) of Minnesota; uncle, Duane Strand of Minnesota; brother by heart, George Pernock of Massachusetts; and many other family and friends from Minnesota, Indiana, Florida and in between.
The family wishes to thank the CNAs and nurses that helped care for Colleen these last three years. Many held a special place in her heart (You all know who you are).
Visiting hours will be 1–2 p.m. March 11 at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home with memorial services to follow. Cremated remains will placed at a later date in Jacksonville Memorial Gardens, Orange Park, next to her mother and brother.
Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home of Palatka is helping the family with arrangements.

Colleen Diane Smith of Palatka, Putnam County, Florida United States was born on November 19, 1960 at Baptist in Jacksonville, Duval County, and died at age 56 years old on February 9, 2017 at UF Health in Gainesville, Leon County.
