Leopold is the son of Arnold Augustine and Eugenie Albert. He had a bunch of sisters and possibly 1 brother. His parents must have died when he was young and his sisters went to California. He said they asked him to go but he refused. He was left in New Orleans where the Carmelite Nuns helped him to survive on his own. He married Grace Raymond around 1928. He had four children with her. Marilyn, Claire, Marlene, and Charles.
