2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!
Gertrude was my Grandmother.. My father's mother. Gertrude was born in Brentwood in 1887/8. She died in 1937. Aged 49 yrs old. She had 2 sons Robin and Donald. Donald Victor Blaikie was killed in WW2. My Father Robin. Was born in 1921. He died in 1986. Gertrude had a few siblings. One of which was Edward. They were copper plate engravers . St Martin's London. SHe married ? my Grandfather Robert Alexander Blaikie. But cannot find out when or if. I do have a few pics.

Robin Campbell Blaikie was born to Robert Alexander Blaikie and Gertrude Valerie (Bristoll) Blaikie, and has a brother Donald Victor Blaikie. Family, friend, or fan, this family history biography is for you to remember Robin Campbell Blaikie.
Donald Victor Blaikie was my uncle and my dad's only brother. A very brave young man. Who at 21 years old was a sergeant and a gunner on a Lancaster bomber. He was shot down over Etemps in France coming home from a raid. That is where he is buried. We are quite a large family. I named one of my son's after him but he sadly died at 36 hrs old If anyone knows anything about his time in the RAF we would love to know.
