Susan Torquatus Von Raditsch
About me:
My family was separated due to war. I began to look for surviving members when I felt it was safe. I heard many stories as a child that I felt no one would believe about my family. When I began my search I found many of the stories told were true. This scared me. I stopped searching. I went to the emergency room because of an illness that struck me suddenly. After being put through various different tests and not knowing what was going on I became irritated. They withdrew so much blood for testing; they ran out of places to stick me. They wanted to withdraw blood from the inner thighs or jugular at this point I demanded to see the doctor for answers before I allowed them to poke me anymore. The doctor was very rude and said, "Lady where the hell does your family come from?" I said, "Why, what does that have to do with what is happening to me? Do I have sickle cell anemia or something like that?" He started to laugh and said, "No but it appears your family came from some sister screwing, cousin marrying family!" And he gave me a look that made me feel very uncomfortable. Needless to say I told him I would rather die than tell him anything and I left the hospital. About 15 minutes later I passed out in public and was taken right back to the same doctor for treatment. I spent several weeks in the Intensive Care Unit of that hospital and I still refused to tell that doctor anything. This problem opened up the path to again search for my family to find out what happened to them. I re-traced my Grandfather's steps prior to his death. I went to Croatia where my family once owned a University. There in my Great Grandfather's things I found several ancient documents. One in particular that had been issued to my family by Ferdinand of Austria on 1 December 1600. It said my ancestor had received the title of Prince of Zengg in Croatia. This is very near the Island of Krk. What is a mystery is how in Croatian History this is not mentioned by anyone. This made me dig deeper into various archives for other ancient information and found matches to my family's stories there. I was so shocked and felt so over-whelmed I decided to take another break. After resting I went back to Austria with a copy of the document from Ferdinand of Austria. A man there asked me what my family name was. When I told him he said something very odd to me. He said, "Yes it is a shame what they did to the Jews." I had no idea what he was talking about. Recently I looked into the area my Grandfather had been when he met and married my Grandmother. I discovered he went to look for his family in Venice and Milano, Italy. There he was advised to go to Mexico where this close family member had last been. This family member was General (Conte/Count) Charles Ferdinand Latrille de Lorencz who married my Great Grandmother Emilia Perez. The Conte's death seems to be unknown to the general public. It is not a mystery to the family. He died of an illness. There he met my Grandmother and married her. My Grandmother's sister was Sara Perez who married Francisco Ignacio Madero who became President of Mexico. I recently read an article that my Great Uncle Francisco Madero was a CryptoJew. I was raised by my Grandmother and Great Aunt. I do not recall ever seeing them practice anything other than Christian traditions. I looked into the records that stated my family originated from Roman descent. I found there were many by the Torquatus that served as Patricians of Rome. I read how and why they had left Tusculum and the dates all add up together. The information I found, the history and their migration all matched together. This is all great concerning the Paternal side of the family. I also received confirmation from Royal Genealogists that my family were of the House of Anjou that was an off shoot branch to Ratchis King of the Lombards, Duke of Fruili and Benevento and brother of Duke of Spoleto. The Paternal side has continued to keep this surname with a change of the spelling of it. I was told as a child this was done for political reasons. "Rad" in the Slavic-Avar language means "Happy or Laughing". The rest of the name is to establish the meaning that we are to be identified as a group and not a single person. I also found geese laughing on my family's coat of arms. This may have something to do with the sacred geese of Rome story. What still is puzzling is the Maternal side of my family. I believe they are connected to the Frangipani family because they had large pieces of property in the areas connected to this family in Croatia. However there is a group of individuals who choose not to let anyone into these records. The secret lies within my Great Great Grandfather who was Bartul Kraic Kreutz or (Kraig Creutz). I don't know who he married or where he came from. I was told as a child it may be from Transylvania, Hungary or Poland. His son was Osip (Josip) Kraic-Creutz Cragnac who had a son by the same name who was a "Govenor of Croatia". I found something else that concerns this part of my family that was really interesting that may be a possible clue. My family shares a part of Vlad the Impaler's family's coat of arms which has to do with a bird holding a rock. I also discovered that coat of arms is not interchangeable. The only way you are allowed to use a coat of arms is if you are related or inherited it. What I was given by these people who do not seem to want me to know anything further about him is the surname of Cragnac which is part of his surname. When I researched this information, I found it came from de La Tours which is linked to a branch of Anjou in France. I had a Royal Genealogist claim that he felt my family was descended from Godfrei de Bullion. I donât know what to believe at this point. I know the truth is what I need even though it scares me to death and sometimes I think I donât want to continue. There was another strange thing I found in Italy. This was a church (one of many my family built and owned). It had a Madonna painting but not just any Madonna painting. It was a duplicate of the one in the Basilica in Mexico City. I know my family revered the Madonna more than anything which makes the CryptoJew or that we might be Jews sort of strange to me. I am trying to keep an open mind. I will accept whatever the truth is and take responsibility for it.
