John {OLD JACK}Acord was from Monroe County,[West]Virginia Jack Acord as he was familiarly known, was as A famous hunter, wit, and story teller, many stories about him and many of his quaint expressions have been handed down
A famous hunter, wit, and story teller. A man of great native ability and A born leader of men, he was an ardent Confederate and although 65 years of age at the beginning of the Civil War, he enlisted for service, but was honorably discharged after about A year. Born April 15,1796 Died May 31,1898 on Acord Mountain
