Tamara's other personality is a Sindarin Tolkien elf named "Hiril Tamarwen Melui Imladnen". Obviously, she's a major J.R.R. Tolkien fan. Because... who does this??

2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

My name is Tamara, and Daunne is my Mummie. There is much to write here, but I shall begin with a rough draft. Mum is an unbelievably strong woman, practically undefeated. She has suffered four strokes and has come back from all of them. She's legally blind but she can still paint a masterpiece. She is extremely talented with arts and crafts. She is also highly educated and has probably read every book on the planet (written in English). She is profoundly articulate as well. She has been a social worker, a children's librarian and a teacher. And I am so very proud of her and thankful she is my Mummie. When I was a child, she made every holiday magical beyond belief. She shopped, she cooked, she hosted parties and made my childhood wonderful. When Daddy passed away suddenly at the age of 65, she was completely devastated. It has been 5 years since then, and she still talks about him every day and misses him terribly. But she gets up each day, puts one foot in front of the other and has so much love to give to everyone around her. I will write more later, but this is the basic gist. Essentially, my mum is a very special and unique woman. Perhaps I can get her to add more here. :)
