My grandfather was a Greek immigrant, he came from Greece around April 1909 he married Antonia Sotiropolis, they had 5 children; Helen born November 12th 1919 Sophie born March 7th 1921 Peter born June 2nd 1923 (he changed his last name to Chase it was easier for him in the music industry, he was a trumpet player, who knew and played with doc severinsen) Bessie born November 1st 1926 And my mother Christine born January 4th 1935 He owned the cobbler shop in downtown Ipswich, and one time he on quite a few of the shops down there. His wife, my grandmother, died when my mother was 7 years old leaving my grandfather to raise the children on his own, he never remarried. My mother Christine passed March 25th 2015, I tried to get her to record as much as possible, but it was never done and now I have to go by memory. When my mother passed she was the last one, everyone from her immediate family passed before her, and there's no one left but us grandchildren who do not have the knowledge my mother had. She loved her father dearly and spoke highly of him.
