Early life
Del Yoakum was born in St. Joseph, Missouri. Throughout his childhood, he was surrounded by artists. His mother was a painter. After dismissing his hope of studying music, painting became his passion. As a boy in the late 1930's, he received a scholarship for four consecutive years to study each summer with Thomas Hart Benton at Kansas City Art Institute. After serving in World War II, he came to Los Angeles and studied with Henry Lee McFee, Phil Dike, and Rico Lebrun; and at Chouinard Art Institute, Jepson Art Institute, and the University of Southern California.

G S Allen
Photo is almost 2 feet long. Bought at a thrift store, Says
on the back in pencil G S Allen. I am in Oregon, I believe the woman
is from Washington. I have tried to research the name, and I only come
up with Genieve, and Genoise, and Gussie..in Washington.
Who is this, and with whom does it belong? Why did it end up in
a thrift store???? Its a wedding day photo. I am not family, I would
really like it if someone stepped up to claim her.
