New Castle Church
This is the New Castle Church located at Fort Klock, Johnsville, New York. John Vallance born about 1760 Hempstead, Nassau Co., New York, died about 1795 in Hempstead, Nassau Co., New York and Elizabeth Southard born 1760 Hempstead, Nassau Co., New York were married on 17 November 1782 in this church. John was the father of Samuel Vallance that settled in Greenup Co., Kentucky.

Owner believes the clothing is more of the late 1930, early 1940 period but is not sure. 'Sallie' is written on the back; don't know if this is meant to be 'to Sallie,' 'from Sallie,' or 'of Sallie.' Will appreciate any comments provided. Thank you.

Marvin Carter Vallance
Marvin Carter Vallance was the first of seven born to the late Henry Green Vallance and Anna Jennettie Pearl Yount Vallance of Plaska, Hall Co., Texas. Marvin was born 9 September 1905 at Plaska, Hall Co., Texas and died 5 May 1980 in Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas. He was married to Ruby Dell Thomas 22 September 1934 in Fort Worth, Texas. Ruby was born 10 March 1912 in Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas and died 22 November 1997 in Wylie, Collin Co., Texas. They were the parents of six children. Marvin and Ruby are buried in Tye Cemetery,Mansfield, Tarrant Co., Texas. Their funerals were conducted by the Blessing Funeral Home.
