Alfred Regis Thayer

A photo of Alfred Regis Thayer (or Theyere) under his Air Corps alias James Regis Long. My grandfather served 2 stints in the Army Air Corps, changing his name and birthday on the 2nd stint so he could remain in the military that he so loved. He was an army cook in the European Theater and received his training in St Louis, Jefferson Barracks.

I served twenty seven years and eight months in army food service. Feeding troops in war time gives fulfillment and pride in being a member. This is a great picture, thanks for sharing it.
