Edgar Kitchen, age 13, worked on a dairy farm (Bingham Brothers Dairy) 10 hrs a day, seven days a week (but half a day on Saturday), for $3.25/wk (about $81.00 in 2020) In the mornings, he drove the dairy wagon. In the afternoons, he worked on the farm.
He thought he would work all year and not go back to school.
